| Assess Your Needs
We believe that finding a home is a very personal experience, and we will take the time to get to know you and your needs. What’s you lifestyle? Do you have a pet that can’t climb stairs, or perhaps need a place where you can work from home? During our first meeting we will listen to what you’re looking for and give you a general idea of what’s available on the market that fits your criteria. The first "session" is key in helping us understand what you want, and helping you understand just what’s out there to choose from.
We will arm you with general information on mortgage types, and recommend several experienced mortgage professionals who can pre-qualify you for a loan, show you all the options of loan products available, and guide you through the application process. It’s crucial to know exactly what you can afford before you start looking for a new home. There is no sense seeking out properties that are out of your price range.
We will tailor our search strategy based on what we’ve learned about you and your ideal home. The criteria will be based on location, price, size, amenities, and personal style, as well as any particular items that are important to you. Reality Check: The brand new two-bedroom condo with parking and a yard near the PATH train for $400,000 does not exist! The more realistic you are about your expectations, the more likely you are to find a great home.
Since finding the right properties is our full-time job, not yours, we will accommodate your schedule in order to find the best opportunities when we can look at properties together. We want to make the most of your time and show you homes that really fit your criteria. Many agents will try to tempt you with more expensive listings, which is just a waste of time for everyone. Our goal is to make every outing as productive as possible. Throughout your search we will advise you on many areas of home ownership. Is the place in question worth renovating? Is this an up-and-coming area? Is there a strong condo association, and what does it do for its members? Does it have good re-sale or investment potential? Page 1 of 2 | Next > |
